Career Education Appointment No-Show and Same Day Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 48 hours in advance. Should you need to cancel within 48 hours, you must email the advisor directly to do so. Same day cancellations and no-shows limit Career Education’s ability to adequately support Wellesley students and alums. By no-showing or same-day canceling an appointment, you are taking a spot from another student or alum.
- After your first no-show or same-day cancellation, you will receive a message reminding you of our policy.
- After your second no-show or same-day cancellation, access to scheduling future appointments in Handshake will be paused.
- Students and alums have a few options to lift the appointment pause:
- Email the advisor you were scheduled to meet and let them know why you missed or cancelled your appointment
- Stop by Career Education to talk to any professional staff member. We are located in the Mods 401 for the 2025-56 academic year.
- Attend a Drop-In Advising with Career Advisors session. Details can be found in Handshake. You may attend any drop-in type, regardless of the topic/audience.
In the rare instance of an extenuating circumstance within the 48 hour timeframe, please communicate to your advisor the reason you will not be able to keep the appointment via email, to avoid having your appointment access paused. Appointment availability is limited, especially around deadlines, so please be respectful of your advisor’s time and that of your classmates.
