Wellesley offers a rigorous liberal arts education that provides space to explore passions and intellectual interests while cultivating research, writing, and analytical skills essential to excel in law school.Because law schools do not have preferred majors or prerequisite courses, this approach sets students up for success in pursuing law school. Wellesley applicants significantly outperform nationwide averages in law school admissions, with students from a range of disciplines — from Studio Art to Neuroscience!

Law School Acceptance Rate
82%
82% of Wellesley applicants are accepted to at least one law school (based on 5-year data from 2019–2024). This compares to a national average of 69% accepted to at least one law school.
Supports study abroad of less-commonly-taught languages in world regions critical to US interests, and underrepresented in study abroad. Study abroad programs of a year are preferred, but a spring plus summer can be a good option and summer programs will be considered for students majoring in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Eligible for the Scholarship are Wellesley first years, sophomores, and juniors who are US citizens, and Wellesley seniors who are also applying for U.S.-based graduate programs might apply for the Fellowship. Campus application deadline typically in January.
Wellesley students should seek advice about appropriate study abroad programs from the Office of International Study, although the Fellowships office is happy to offer advice on Boren Scholarship applications.
Networking is making connections and building meaningful relationships to share resources, offer support and assistance without expectations of immediate reciprocity.
Graduate school is an opportunity to examine a field of your choice with more specificity and direction. It gives you the tools you need to succeed in the industry of your choice. Preparation for grad school can begin as early as your first year of college as you begin conversations with your College Career Mentor about how your values, interests, and strengths align with potential fields of study.
